About Us

Continuation of Nepali Citizenship for British Gurkha (CNCBG) is a registered non-profit organisation in United Kingdom with dedication of addressing injustice in Nepalese citizenship of descendants for British Gurkhas alongside with their families. The Gurkhas have been serving in the British Crown is due to the reason of Tri-partite Agreement between British, India and Nepal, on 9 November 1947. Therefore, we firmly believe, all Gurkhas and their families (generations) inherit the right to Nepali citizenship of descendant.

The Gurkhas are renowned in the world for bravery, Loyalty and dedication who have been serving for more than 209 years with their life sacrificed for British Crown and Nepal.

CNCBG endeavour to deliver the awareness of NRN and advocates in injustice of Nepalese citizenship law for Gurkhas with Nepal government until justice is given. Therefore; every Gurkhas alongside with their families are requested to join us to fight for our rights of retaining a full Nepalese citizenship regardless Gurkhas and their descendants have born outside Nepal and owned a red passport.

Our Mission

To secure Nepalese citizenship rights for Gurkha veterans and their families, ensuring they receive the recognition and respect they deserve.

Our Objectives

a. To advocate for the amendment of the Nepalese Constitution to reinstate the right of Nepali citizenship by descent for members of the Brigade of Gurkhas (British Army), their dependents, and future generations.

b. To ensure the unconditional recognition of Nepali citizenship for all individuals recruited into the Brigade of Gurkhas under the Tripartite Agreement (TPA).

c. To establish the primacy of the Tripartite Agreement (TPA) over any conflicting Nepali laws and bylaws in matters concerning the citizenship rights of Gurkha soldiers and their descendants.

d. To develop programmes that enable Gurkha descendants to understand and learn the Nepali language, culture, and rich history.

e. To facilitate the resettlement of returning Gurkhas and their families, enabling them to adapt to life in Nepal.

f. To provide support and resources to Gurkha veterans and their families in areas such as business, entrepreneurship, legal matters, taxation, and civic responsibilities.

g. To maintain flexibility in addressing the evolving needs and concerns of Gurkhas and their descendants in relation to their rights and well-being in Nepal.
